Today we are going to learn things about the...
cha cha chan THE ROOK
As
we already know
there are 4 rooks (2 white and 2 black)
they are valued 5 points each
they are placed on the corners of the
chessboard (a-1, h-1 white Rooks and a-8 and h-8 the black ones)
after the Queen the Rook is the piece with
more mobility and it moves straight along the columns or the lines forward and
backwards
They are really good defenders so... it's
much better not to move them at the beginning of the game (opening).
They are used for CASTLING (so don't move
at least one of them in advance just in case you need to castle).
Rooks are rellay good defenders I like to
call them the goalkeepers. I do recomend you to watch how to castle
Now the Challenges
Easy challenge #1 (if you have watched the video)
How many squares can a Rook control from
h-8, and from b-6, and from any square of the chessboard?
Try to move a Rook from any square of an
(empty) chessboard and count how many squares it can control.

Challenge #2
You can play the “Torre glotona”
The rules are simple
Whites move the pawns from their initial position and they win if one
of them reaches the row number 8 or captures the black Rook.
Black plays only with a Rook.
In this game Black Rook starts the game and tries to capture all the white pawns.
Shake your hands and ready steady GO!
Challenge #3 (the difficult one)
Calculate the maximum
number of rooks that can be placed on the chessboard, without being able to
attack each other.
Show me a picture of their position.
Challenge #4
This is very funny:
It must take a piece on every move, and finishing by capturing the King (the white pieces don't move).

como ya sabemos
hay 4 torres (2 blancas y 2 negras)
se valoran 5 puntos cada uno
se colocan en las esquinas del tablero (a-1, h-1 Torres blancas y a-8 y h-8 las negras)
después de la dama, la torre es la pieza con más movilidad y se mueve en línea recta a lo largo de las columnas o las líneas hacia adelante y hacia atrás
Son muy buenos defensores, así que... es mucho mejor no moverlos al comienzo del juego (apertura).
Se usan para el ENROQUE (así que no muevas al menos uno de ellos por adelantado en caso de que necesites enrocar).
Las torres son muy buenos defensores. Me gusta llamarlos porteros. Te recomiendo que veas cómo enrocar

Desafío fácil #1 (si has visto el video)
¿Cuántas casillas puede controlar una Torre desde h-8, y desde b-6, y desde cualquier casilla del tablero?
Intenta mover una Torre desde cualquier casilla de un tablero de ajedrez (vacío) y cuenta cuántas casillas puede controlar.

Desafío #2
Puedes tocar la “Torre glotona”
Las reglas son simples
Las blancas mueven los peones y ganan si uno de ellos llega a la fila número 8 o captura la torre negra.
Las negras juegan solo con una torre.
En este juego la Torre negra comienza el juego y debe capturar a todos los peones blancos.
¡Date la mano y listo, listo, YA!
Desafío #3 (el difícil)
Calcula el número máximo de torres que se pueden colocar en el tablero de ajedrez, sin poder atacarse entre sí.
Muéstrame una foto de su posición.
Desafío #4
Es muy divertido:
Encuentra una ruta para que la Torre Negra capture todas las piezas blancas del tablero.
Debe tomar una pieza en cada movimiento, y terminar capturando al Rey (las piezas blancas no se mueven).
