4th week solution.

I am happy and even more. We are building a faithful community of people playing and enjoying chess.

Here you are the solutions:

For the first activity:

c-4 & h-5
 d-6 & g-5

            Rxa-7& Rxf-5

For the second:

A)  Who has the best position and why?
White or black ones…

I have been playing with both teams and first of all I need to compare the pieces, there are the same but the white bishop (Bb-2)
Secondly the white pawns are placed in a better defending position.
Black pawns (a-7, a-6 and a-5) interfere with the rest.
Thirdly, and the most important, try to move the white Queen to d-5

B)  …and in this one?
Tell me why.
Both have same pieces or at least the same value, Blacks have a K.
Knight and Whites a Bishop (3 points each).
The white pawn b-4 defends its King from a Check from the black Knight in c-4, meanwhile the white bishop can capture the black pawn in g-7. So I’d rather prefer the white pieces but it depends on how you play your pawns to promote one of the pawns.

C)  Choose and justify between the White Knight or the Black Bishop.

I'd rather prefer the white one because the knight has many possible routes to attack while the black bishop is trapped in a defensive position behind its own pawns.
In the same idea it is important to realize that the Bishops only can move through the diagonals in their colors, in the meanwhile Knights change the color of the square on every movement.

D)  Which Bishop would you like the most? The B-d3 or the B-d7

Both are on white squares. Black Bishop d-3 can only move backwards because the black pawns block its movements forward, as you know they cannot jump over any piece. In the other hand the white Bishop (d-7) can move along its for diagonals.

Thank you very much for your participation.

I’ll post some of your solutions.
