The bishop (b)

There are 2 bishops per team.

They only move diagonal, so there is a bishop passing by the black squares and the other by the white ones.

They can move all along the diagonal as many squares as the game allows.

They capture their opponents by taking their place; they cannot jump over any piece.

When playing their value is 3 points (some authors say 3.5)

It takes its name from a christian religious charge, although in Spanish its name comes from "elephant", a literal translation because of this game came from India.
