Solution 7th Activity

Hi everyone

These are the solutions for the 2 CHALLENGES of the last fortnight.

CHALLENGE #1:
Have a look to the next diagrams and it will be easy to understand although most of you have discovered the solution:
This is the initial position.

It is easy to see the White King can't capture the black pawn, because of the Black Queen, but the King has only one square left to escape.

The black Pawn is not blocked because it can capture (and promote) either  the White Rook or Bishop,😏
Now the Promotion is much better with a Knight, because it can Check the White King and covers his escape to g-3, and the Black Queen blocks the other escapes so it is CHECKMATE.

CHALLENGE #2

For the ancient problem with the KNIGHTS I am still in shock with your wonderful and creative answers (I swear it was not so easy).

The minimum number of moves is 16,, yes sixteen. and there are many participants that solved the problem. I am very proud of you, just for trying it.

BRAVO

The best solutions are your solutions and also the tries.

I want to mention Ian's Video from Logroño (Escolapios), a first grade boy who solved the problem in a really natural way. I'm not showing his video because it is too young but he wll be a great Chess player.

From Escolapios in Logroño (they are on fire) Nika and Samuelov sent us their solutions:
But it is easier with a couple of videos...

from Rey Pastor in Logroño: RP sextoA

and the Fast from Escolapios (again) in Logroño.

And I can't stop laughing with our friend Profesor Kwondo from Compañía de María in Logroño, his last solution is really funny.
