Solution to 9th Activity Let's learn how to castle

Hi there my friends,

Well here you are the solutions for the challenges of the 9th activity.

Challenge #1:
Both moves have a mistake.

  1. Number 1 The Queen side castling (enroque largo) the White King should be on C-1 and the Rook on D-1
  2. Number 2 The castling cannot take place because the Black Bishop is checking the White King during this move on E-1.

 Challenge #2:
In the first diagram you see that the position H-7 can be taken by the White Queen and the White Knight so if the Black pieces castle the Checkmate is done, so it is not advisable.

In the second diagram, the White Queen and Knight are pointing the same position but the Black Bishop is helping its team and now it is advisable the Castling to protect the King.

I thought this activity was going to be a little more difficult but you solved it very well.馃憦馃憦馃憦馃憦馃憦馃憦馃憦馃憦馃憦馃憦馃憦馃憦馃憦

Now the best part your solutions:

This week I am going to post solutions from the school ESCOLAPIOS (in Logro帽o). Great job from that School

This solution was sent by "The Fast"

Samuelov, from Escolapios aswell, sent us his explanation:

CHALLENGE 2:
.- 1潞 Diagram: The castling in the first diagram cannot be done. The black King would be in danger from checkmate.
.- 2陋 Diagram: Yes. In the second diagram the black bishop makes castling possible.

And finally "Profesor Ticolo" showed us his solution with a video and some pics:
